Dear diary, my name is Jenny and I have a dog called Max. Max is my favourite because I got him on my birthday from my mum. I was so happy that I cried.

But then one day we went into the back garden and Max suddenly started to talk to me. I was so frightened. I almost fainted, but Max told me, "Jenny, don't be afraid. I came for you because you have a power like me."

Then he started floating and told me something I would never forget: "You and me were tested by a science test."

The next day, me and Max were going to the beach, but first we had to pack a bag with a towel and a basket full of food for me and dog food for Max. And then we headed out.

When we got to the beach, I set out our towel and unpacked the bag and the basket. Then a giant octopus with three heads and a purple eye in the center of its face appeared.

The octopus grabbed a man who was swimming. I got so angry I suddenly started to float. I was a bit wobbly at first, but was fine. And Max floated too.

The man struck a punch and Max did the same, and the octopus dropped the guy and Max caught him and put him down safely.

He came back with a sword and gave it to me. So I tried striking some blows on the octopus, but it wasn't working.

Then somebody shouted, "How can a 10-year-old kill a giant octopus?"

I was angry and a powerful sword appeared. It popped up in front of me. It wasn't normal. It was massive. A massive, powerful sword. Bigger than me, but it wasn't heavy.

So I picked it up and I struck a blow, and I sliced through the octopus's head and he died.

I received a golden medal with my name on. Max got treats and the same golden medal with Max's name on.

And then the man we saved came up to us and asked, "How did you feel about defeating the octopus?"

And I replied, "Max and I felt happy that we'd killed the octopus."

The end.
